So this is the weekend Addison was born. I was teaching at Powell and had begun my maternity leave when I was dialated to a 3. She was supposed to come the following Tuesday but Wednesday I was out shopping for nursing gowns. It was not fun to have people ask me when I'm due and my response be, "Yesterday". Who knew she'd start being stubborn from the womb. Luckily my doctor was going on vacation the following weekend and wanted to make sure she was born by then. Thursday morning, Dec. 15 Jon and I went in at 5:00. We stopped at the convenient store on our way to the hospital to get gum and something for Jon to drink. We checked in like it was a hotel and the fun began. My doctor checked in on me and broke my water at about 9:30. By like 10:30am I was starting to feel contractions and was calling for the drugs. Addison was born at 12:45 with no problems at all (Thank you God!) She weighed in at 9 lbs. 9 oz. and was 21 in. long. I was discharged at noon on Sat. and we made our way home where we set up our post. We had visitors and lots of food and my mom stayed with us for the next fews days until I could get around easily. Everything went perfectly, I now know. I thank God everyday for how blessed we are.
